Every professional chef understands the importance of gastronorm pans in the world of commercial kitchens or catering. These hotel pans are used in every stage of food lifecycle. Not only storage or preparation, but they also play a vital role in a perfect presentation of food items.

From assembly to display, the types of food pans that restaurateurs and caterers use are not all created equal. That's why understanding the differences between these pans and therefore determining which pan is best for your needs, is essential to the success of your operation. We care for our esteemed customers. Therefore, we provide with the all required information about these hotel pans. You can use this guide to learn all you need to know about the food pans designed to best meet your requirements.

Choice of Material

The material of food pans does matter a lot. The ideal material can keep the food safe for a longer duration if kept at a correct temperature. Hotel pans are mainly constructed of stainless steel 304 (which is a food-grade material) or stainless steel 202 grade or polycarbonate materials. All these materials meet their individual requirements. Polycarbonate food pans are available two colour options which are black and transparent. The polycarbonate transparent food pan and lids allow you to check the content placed in it without opening the lid. You can even use a polycarbonate lid with a stainless steel food pan. Polycarbonate pans can easily tolerate temperature up to 90 degree Celsius, whereas Stainless Steel pan can be even used for direct cooking.

Non-Stick Designs For Easy Storage

Every stainless steel steam table pan has an exciting feature of anti-jamming which means that the pans do not jam against each other when stacked one inside the other. This feature of these pans enables you to reduce the utilisation of space by stacking pans without any hassles. These can be stacked very conveniently on one another.

Array Of Sizes To Choose From

Full-size food pans are the standard in the foodservice industry, measuring approximately 20 3/4" x 12 3/4". All other sizes of food pans are simply a variation on those dimensions. For example, a 1/2 size pan measures 12 3/4" x 10 3/8" and a 2/3 size pan measures 13 3/4" x 12 3/4". Continue reading for a more comprehensive breakdown of sizes and capacities.
